PROBLEMS ENTERING A RECIPE

HI all. Has anyone had trouble entering a recipe? I just tried to enter a recipe for what I had for dinner tonight but It wouldn't let me. I did not even see how to be able to save it once I entered the ingrediants. Can someone tell me step by step how to do this?
