Hey all, so I've noticed that my stretch marks have become much more noticeable since I have started losing weight.. Some one told me that you get stretch marks (or that they appear) when you begin losing weight. Is that true? Is this why the stretch marks are coming?

I don't have an answer for you, but I think I've got the same thing going on right now. I've always had stretch marks on my stomach anyway, but thought that once I began losing weight they would start to fade away. I've lost almost 20 pounds since January and have therefore not "stretched" in 3 months, and yet I am pretty certain that there are a new set of them, all bright and pink. The older ones do also appear to be fading like I thought they would, so getting new ones from the weight loss does seem to be what happened.

Stretch marks come from stretching the skin faster then it would normally grow. so i would think the only way you'd get new stretch marks would maybe be from the skin stretching in a new direction due to size or shape changes while sill having fat with hanging skin, im not really sure, personally i haven't noticed any new ones on myself just the ones i've had. and i've lost a noticeable amount of weight.
