Help with weighing food

So I just bought this new food scale. This will be my first time actually weighing food instead of using cups or measuring spoons. For things like peanut butter, do I measure them in something? Would just plopping it on the scale work just as well? lol

For peanut butter, you could just put the food that you are putting the peanut butter on, on the scale and zero it out (tare it) then measure your PB...
Buying a scale was the best investment I've made in a long time.
Best of luck to ya!0 -
If you're going to eat the peanut butter on something, just tare the scale before you put it on the thing and see how much you put on it after.
If you're going to lick the spoon though, you're better off putting the jar on the scale, tare it, help yourself, then see how many grams were removed from the jar.0 -

It's helpful for OCD peeps (sorry guys). They want to know the weight of the PB down to whatever little remnant is left on the spoon that didn't get weighed. I'll confess to being in that camp by electing to rinse off the spoon rather than lick it0 -
I keep a roll of saran wrap handy by my scale, toss down a sheet of saran and plop the food on.
