Some things change and some things stay the same.
I remember back in the day tracking calories using a paperback book listing foods and their corresponding calories in the smallest font possible so they could cram it all into the fewest pages possible. I also remember Weight Watchers meetings where everything was done on paper and Weight Watchers had this big book of recipes that we used. Feedback and support on my progress and diet came from other attendees at the weekly Weight Watchers meetings.
It’s interesting how technology has moved things forward. I now have access to an almost unlimited supply of fitness information through my hand held device. I get feedback and support from My Fitness Pal friends who come from other generations and other countries. These are people who I’ve never actually met and probably wouldn’t recognize if I passed them on the street.
A lot has changed, but some things will never change. It’s still about taking the time to eat healthy and to get a little exercise. It’s still about confronting my demons that lead me to eat emotionally. And it’s still about expending more calories than I take it.

The more things change...the more they stay the same.0 -
And we are so LUCKY to watch the change and be a part of the change rather than keeping a physical journal which is more time consuming than having an iphone in your hand and scanning away. I love MFP and somewhat enjoy the anonymity of it. less judgement of it all. I prefer MFP over Weight Watchers tenfold....and I have spent $100's with them, trying to make a go of it. With something that is FREE for us to us, and it works for me, well I just keep on plucking away and you're right, It's a delicate balance!0
