Juicers

I am going to use a juicer to help loose weight. I plan on having 2 eggs for breakfast and then 2-3 juices a day. Can anyone recommend a juicer and juicer recipes? Thanks!

  • Go to RebootWithJoe.com. They have a ton of recipes. As for the juicer I have the $200 breville juicer. It works amazingly.

The only thing I can add is if your trying to count calories, it will be impossible to do it since every fruit is a different weight and you may not get the same amount of juice.

My goal is weight loss but I thought if I am just having the juice as a meal for lunch and dinner then I would be in my caloric needs. I went to the website you suggested and it gave me some great ideas! Thanks! I just want the pounds to start coming off and I feel like I need to do something more drastic to get my *kitten* in gear!

so your plan is to only eat eggs and juice?

that's a ridiculous plan. If you want to lose weight, it isn't through buying juicers. adding juice to your diet is fine, but relying only on two eggs for breakfast then fruit juice for two other meals?

where will you get the rest of your protein? what about dietary fat?

doing something drastic? why not just buy a food scale, weigh and log your food for a solid six weeks. if you've lost, you're doing it right. If you haven't lost, you found your maintenance/tdee... if you've gained, well, eat a little less.

there's absolutely, positively no reason to go all super extreme to get results.

I researched juicers and had one picked out and then I saw a Nutribullet infomercial and bought one. We've used it pretty much every day for over a year and love it. It's starting to rust near the base of the pitcher though, despite the fact that we rinse it and dry it immediately after use as recommended, so I'm bummed about that part.

Nothing drastic needed at all otherwise you will get fed up. if you set your goal to lose .5 pounds per week and weigh and log everything you eat you will see it come off. It may come off abit slow but thats fine.

A great juicier is active blend as you just blend and go. I love to put kale and chia seeds in my smoothies as there are great benefits chia seeds keep you fuller for longer , you can even just add these to your water to help fill you up so u won't have to eat as much and kale has iron and calcium in

First off, that's not enough food. You need more protein and fat and calories in general.

Second, why juice? At least make it a smoothie and keep the fiber.

Thank for your responses, even the harsh ones. I like the smoothie idea for at least a meal. I had already planned to add protein powder to the juices. I wil start with a scale and continue with tracking calories. I am really bad at emotional eating and when I am at a party or whatever and there is cake put infront of me, I would then eat the cake. Until last year I was on medicaton that kept me thin regardless of what I ate, plus I did not work and I spent an hour and 1/2 at the gym so watching my calories and making wise choices is new to me.

...so watching my calories and making wise choices is new to me.

...which is fine that it's new, but keep at it. that's the only thing that's going to really stick. It's also sustainable. It's lasting.

So here is a question regarding measuring/portion control. Last night I made tacos with ground turkey and my own seasonings. How do I know how many calories that I consumed? Do I measure the meat, the lettuce, the cheese and the salsa for each of the 2 tacos I had?
