Can't commit to maintenance...

I've been 'transitioning' to maintenance for over a month now, I log intermittently but haven't upped my cal goal - though I eat extra and often forget to log it. I'm 26, 5'3, 119-120lb

I am losing very very slowly now and am worried about the dreaded glycogen. I getting hung up on the number on the scale and don't want to see it change... It doesn't help that following a neck injury my lifting regime has totally petered away... best way to jump back in? Best way to make the actual change over?

How about putting some numbers on this? Half a pound a week? Less? Your rate of loss will tell you how much you can increase your calories.
Why worry about glycogen? It's a good thing. Otherwise it's like having your batteries half-charged!!
BTW - not everyone gets a glycogen/water weight bounce anyway.

Increase your calories - which it seem you are doing anyway by eating food but not logging it. You are giving the number on your scale far too much power over you - if you aren't prepared to see it change with normal weight fluctuations you are in for a very unhappy time. Please relax and enjoy your success.

i agree with this. Maybe you should take a break from weighing yourself since it has such power over you. Take your measurements instead. Go by the way your favorite jeans (or something equivalent) fit.

If you're worried about a glycogen bounce, maybe continue to lose a couple of more pounds so when you do go up, you'll still be at goal. I ended up gaining probably 5 pounds (but then I'm eating a bit over maintenance because it turns out I do actually want to gain a bit). Now I'm maintaining. And I can tell you that I look so much better since the glycogen restore--if that's what it was.

I was sick all last week and eating less. On Saturday, my trainer said he could tell I was "depleted" of glycogen--my muscles and skin just looked droopy. By yesterday's workout with him, he got excited when he could tell I was "inflating" again. (I gave him grief for pointing out that I had looked depleted when I already still felt gross from being sick. He laughed and said that only in his line of work is it okay--and can be a good thing--to tell a woman she looks "puffy.") I'm looking forward to being fully "inflated" within the next few days.

I swear, you will look better with it!
