Step 1: Invest in a LOT of printer ink.
Step 2: Print off the nutrition fact PDFs of all the fast food joints you frequent.
Step 3: Stash those bad boys in your car.
Step 4: BEFORE you're in the drive thru line, peruse your new foodie encyclopedia, and make a good, informed decision!
i.e. @Taco Bell, stick to normal taco-like items, either fresco, chicken soft, or crunchy beef supreme-- they're all about 200 calories or less.
What are some of your 'secret weapons' to ensure success?

daily journaling, staying active, eating more natural foods and not buying processed foods, drinking lots of water, not eating out very much, making plans for the day as far as my food choices or the day's activity in the morning or the night before, eating vegies and taking vitamins, trying out new recipes or foods occasionally, getting enough sleep. Those are probably the main ones that will help me do this for life.0

Pretty much all of the above. In addition I believe a healthy lifestyle consists of not only a healthy diet and excersise but mental and spiritual health as well so I make time for friends and family, engage in activities that stimulate my brain, try to learn something new every day and do something new or different at every opportunity. I definately believe that you have to allow yourself the occasional treat to make life worthwhile though, whether that be Taco Bell or a bottle of french champagne0

Meditate or follow mindfulness.
Maintain your relationship with your religion. If you are atheist, occasionally annoy the believers to keep your balance.
If you are overweight, appreciate the fact you live in a place where you CAN be overweight.
Take the drugs that are prescribed.
Set goals. Understand that achieving the goals is not entirely in your control. Just try like heck.
My personal favorite - G-d has a great sense of humor. it's just that he is working with such a slow audience.0 -
