Paleo vs. Keto?

I'm trying to decide which lifestyle I'd like to try. I've been looking at Keto recipes and Paleo recipes a lot, and I really like the look of the food on Keto.
I guess I just have my reservations.
Is there anyone who could speak from experience and enlighten me? This is a tough choice for me. If you have your food diary open so that I could look at examples of each please let me know. If you think one is better than the other, let me know that as well.
Thanks everyone!

Is there a reason you're specifically looking only at these two?
I guess if you really want it to be a lifestyle change you need to be able to stick with it long term0 -
I am on day 2 of keto so I may be premature but I find the food I am eating while on this "diet" to be quite satisfying. I don't feel hungry which I did while I was calorie counting (which ultimately lead me to fail on that diet). I do have my food diary open if you're interested. My favorite meal so far is asparagus wrapped in bacon with some butter and soy sauce drizzled on top. It's so good.0

I'm looking at these two because I really want to eat healthy, organic food. I don't want to cut corners. I want the food that I'm eating to be wholesome and good for me.
I've also heard the most success from these two.
Also, I do plan on making this a lifestyle change, not just a quick fix/diet.0 -
Paleo can be keto but keto need not be paleo. To be ketogenic requires low carbs and moderate protein and is a tighter constraint the paleo.
Paleo is a bit ill-defined, so I'm not sure exactly what one would follow, whereas keto is like driving within a speed limit.0 -

Are you calorie counting?
I try and go by 80/20, 80% wholefoods (but this includes bread, pasta rice etc) and 20% whatever I like sugar in my tea, chocolate, cake etc.
I would say there quite limited and keto is low carb. You don't need to restrict yourself to lose weight its all about energy balance0 -
You can eat healthy organic food without going paleo or keto.
If you do want to, just try one and see how you go, it's a personal thing so no one else can make the decision. Be aware that while some people have success, many others do not, so there's a chance it might not be the right thing for you.
I don't get on with either but that's just me, I need my complex carbs and they both made me ill.0 -

Then eat fresh vegetables, fruit and locally sourced, locally produced low processed food. And stop looking for labelled dietary styles. You need neither keto/paleo to reach that goal. I'm not dissing either - I don't care if someone wants to follow either method but if your goal is what I bolded you can reach it without a superflous label by focusing on that.0 -
I am Keto as i have hypothyroidism and i find it has actually been the only reliable thing to help me lose weight given my current circumstances with the disease.
I find it gets a bit boring from time to time, but you can find recipes on the internet/e-books, and people on here are often v helpful (except the odd person who whinges about it)
Add me if you go keto, am looking for more 'keto people'

I drop in and out of keto for a few weeks on occasion (been in for about a week now) when I feel I need a quick cut, but I couldn't make a lifestyle out of it. It effectively rules out about 98% of foodstuffs.0

You realize you can be both right? Paleo and keto can be used together. Paleo restricts from all grains and processed foods and also limits dairy. I do a paleo version of keto. I eat meat, animal fat, eggs, tons of green veggies, drinks sweetened with stevia, I have coffee, and sometimes I do have dairy (I make a killer ice cream shake). Paleo allows fruits, but I know this knocks me off my diet very easily, as I tend to binge on fruit. Go with keto, just make sure it is healthy. Get at least a salad a day, plus 2 veggies at dinner. Don't do fake sugars except stevia drops. Good luck, x0
