hi everyone,
i start officially my new diet using MFP on Saturday morning i have gone a month without weighing myself previously been doing Weight watchers plan called filling and healthy which is similar to slimming world so get my results from that then but missing the odd treat ect whcih is why i decided to switch, i just want to make sure i have been doing the last two days correctly so im on the right track, im 5ft 8.5" work out 4X a week doing a mixture of cardio and weight classes like kettlebells and weigh 164lb MFP gave me 1420cals a day. im in two minds what to do in terms of exercise calories
1) don’t touch any of them even though this may mean leaving me with a net of only 1000cals on some days and then bank those exercise calories for a Saturday treat wine pizza ect.
2) eat back at least half making sure i never drop below 1200cal net for day (i have heard its dangerous to drop lower then this??) even though over the week i will be at my goal once i eat the cals on weekend
another question when i do have a treat day on Saturday is there a certain amount of calories i should not be going over??? i was thinking not to exceed 2400cals as this is what my TDEE is to maintain???
i want to have the treat day Saturday as im use to weight watchers and doing there points system were you get the extra weekly allowance which i use to spend on the weekend.
thanks you.

I have been doing some research on the rule of not going under 1200 calories per day. It all seems to be related to the point at which the body goes into starvation mode, and this will be different for everyone depending on their weight and activity level. Having the body enter starvation mode is obviously unhealthy and potentially dangerous. Eating just 1000 calories a day and doing the exercise that you mentioned sounds particularly low. Im 120lb and if I ate that few on an exercise day I dont think i would make it through my workout!!!! :laugh:0

sorry i think you may have read it wrong, i get 1420 calries a day so after a work out i can burn 400cals so if i dont eat them that leaves me with 1000calories net on that day,but yes i see what you mean.x0

I'd eat back at least half of your exercise calories. I'm 5'7 and weigh 163. I don't do a ton of exercise, just try to get my 10,000 steps in daily and I eat between 1600-1800 calories a day. I'm losing a pound a week.0
