How do you manage your sugar intake?

My mom is a diabetic, recently diagnosed and I really want to help her and also eat the same food she has to. She is going to see her doctor soon, but in the meantime can I have some helpful tips and facts? My questions are:
What is the normal range that your blood sugar is supposed to be?
After a meal?
When fasting?
The amount of grams of sugar per day allowed?
Safe foods?
Ways to curb cravings?
Also, I remember going to the clinic and after having my blood sugar being tested, I was told I have a risk for diabetes. But ever since, I take check my sugar abt an hr and a half to two hrs after and it's usually 70-80. Is this high?

Tell your mom to google "Neal Barnard Reversing Diabetes". The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine has great resources for diabetics.

I'm sorry that I can't help you with your specific questions; however, I wanted to recommend organic stevia as a sugar substitute
Once you get used it to, you'll never need sugar again (for the most part
). It's a great way to cut down on sugar consumption.
