calories burned while weight training?

I have been doing cardio at my local gym for the last 3 months. I have done no weight training what so ever. I guess you can say im stuck in my comfort zone. Ive lost 30 pounds and i need to start my weight training to tighten and tone. I have a goal to burn atleast 500 calories at the gym. Is this attainable with the weight training? I always spend an hour at the gym. Will i need to stay longer? Thanx in advance for the feedback. :)
