After finally feeling better with my various injuries, I signed up with Planet Fitness.
I know.. lots of people here hate it but, for $10.00 a month, I think it will be OK.
I don't mind the dress code (I actually like not feeling like I am in a pickup joint) and the "no grunting" rule is fine by me.
Lets see if I can stay healthy enough to get back down to 220 LBS.

I'm not sure how you think other gyms are run, but lol! at "pickup joint".

And congratulations, if you enjoy PF. I can't ever promise I won't grunt under a barbell, so they'll just have to make do without my money.

I was very used to being in the Army gyms.
When I got out, I joined the closest gym to my apartment.
    LA Fitness.
To me, it was like singles night every time I was there.
    That as my impression anyway.
After that was Golds. (I was still in pretty good shape) and it was the same thing except, well... bigger.
This one seems to have a different attitude.
And I think the "No grunting" rule applies to the idiots who feel the need to scream at every rep. I used to lift heavy and, while there is a little big of grunting involved, some people are just attention *kitten* wanting everyone to see them lifting and hear them screaming.
And for ten bucks, It is close enough so that I can get a workout in during lunchtime.

i was thinking about doing this exact same thing because the price is great and mainly i just want to use the leg press machine i workout at home and outdoors. I'm not comfortable working out in front of people. (i have severe social anxiety) so im really uncomfortable with the whole "pickup joint"
