It's May, it's May! The Lusty Month of May.

Every May 1st I get that song from Camelot stuck in my head. I was raised on musicals though. I still don't know what a "lusty month" is. I always heard that was February.

Anyway, I had a great workout yesterday at my weights class. I really felt good afterwards. I also went on 2 walks. Today, I'm going to an interval class, that the teacher promises to be like a boot camp class. I hope my butt, after all those lunges, is up to it. This is my weights teacher, whom I like. She's subbing for someone that broke her foot.

Congrats to V for new job - sorry didn't mention it before.

Congrats to WL for finishing job. Will it be aired next season?

Congrats to everyone for keeping up the good work!

I'm getting my "inner Julie Andrews" on right now, Mary. . .

So, I'm seriously considering starting to do the BL power sculpt three days a week and cardio twice a week. (Official cardio, like spinning or the elliptical.) I'm finding that I'm walking at least 30 minutes a day whether I want to or not, due to the whole "no car live in the city thing". Also, my heart rate does get up quite a bit (even spiking a few times) during the sculpting, which feels more like circuit training than your standard "stand there and do bicep curls" class I get at the gym. Thoughts? Opinions? I know it sounds lame, but now that I'm at maintenance calories, all a trip to the gym tends to get me is "how am I going to eat a thousand extra calories?" (hey, some days I have no problem. . .but others. . . )

Anyways, today I'm going to the gym for the elliptical. Next week I start teaching (crazy schedule involving 12 hour days) so it may be my last chance for a leisurely gym visit for a while.

Happy Thursday! Happy May! Only 18 days to Victoria Day. . .:flowerforyou:

Mornin' all. Boy, what a squirelly morning I had! I managed to get in 35 minutes of BL Power Sculpt and 25 of Cardio Max before I was interrupted three times and had to quit for a little while. When I finally got back to it, I decided with the time I had left, I would do the 30 minute Hip Hop Abs Fat Burning Cardio...so all in all, I guess I'm ok for today. I will get a walk in later this afternoon as rain is forecast for the next three days...UGH...

Vivia-I, too, am going to try to do three days a week of Power Sculpt and three of Cardio Max. I've changed my goals to a one pound a week loss and seem to be having a hard time remembering to eat the extra calories-maybe not remembering, but "allowing". Never thought I would have a problem with eating extra!

    Everyone have a super day!

I could eat all y'all's (I love that expression) extra calories. I can eat!

Anyway, I think both your plans sound good, as long as you get the walking - or something - in. I think the most dangerous thing that happens to people after weight loss, is they stop moving (not from experience, just what I've read). If you keep the walking/easy cardio up, then if you have an injury, or emotional meltdown, or whatever, you will still walk - but you may not do the weights or gym class. Just my two cents. Dang, I'm hungry now!

    I'm hungry too!

I agree with Mary's advice; the key is to just keep moving.

Does anyone ever do workouts from FitTV? I like doing the BL ones that they have, and I'm a bit addicted to the Men's Fitness sculpting workouts...but I dont' like how everything is in 22 or 25 minute segments. I wish I could find one that's an hour.

I know, I should just buy the DVD's but my player isn't hooked up.

Yesterday I did a very fast walk, then 25 minutes of sculpting.
I also stayed within my calories and ate slowly.

Today I did Jackie's (from that Bravo show "Workout") core workout and arms workout (on FitTV). Still need to get my cardio in tonight.

Ohhhh and my show airs on the Today show on Mother's Day -- it's a 90 minute special called "America's Favorite Mom." Can't wait!

An emotional meltdown? ME? ROFLMAO. . .It would be a new state of mind if I wasn't having an emotional breakdown lately. Ah, the pressures of grad school. . .

I think the new plan is: sculpting MWF (which I think is cardio-ish)
Hard cardio on Tuesday or Thursday (yoga on the non-cardio day) and Saturday (my fave spin class)
Dance class on Sundays (light cardio)
    and walks on MWF.

Wow, when I write it out like that, it's a lot, eh? Ya'll? Man, my regionalisms are so scattered. I slip in southern-isms still. . .and now I'm starting with Canadianisms. . .an eh? here or there. (they really do say that up here.) My husband jokes (sort of) that after a few glasses of wine, I become more southern as the night progresses. . .
