So I thought i'd make an intro post.
I'm 25 years old, 5' 10.5" sitting at around 196lb and 20.4% body fat (as of 4/4/2014)
I'm not a "new starter" really I've been hitting the gym up 5 days a week for the last 5-6 months, it's become a routine/lifestyle thing if I don't go due to illness or injury I really miss it and become insanely bored at night time.

I think I started at around 215 lb and 30%ish body fat (Only had a cheap electronic measurer from ebay) so I'm making decent enough progress. However I kind of feel like I'm not actually getting any thinner in the waist; I can definitely see my muscle tone in my arms, legs, shoulders and back. I tend to do around 20 minutes of cardio and 50-60 minutes (4 sets of 5-6 exercises) of weight training; looking for some advice on if I should up the cardio a little bit to reduce the body fat a little bit more? I've only started logging accurately from yesterday when I got my scales. Ignore my weekend log I was dog sitting at my mum's house which has nothing too healthy in so I had a big of a binge.

The one major place where I can improve my diet is my lunch, however this gets bought for me at work every day so I don't have much of a say. I could always refuse but I'd feel rude because my bosses pay for it all.

I'm also a bit confused on to how to log my weight lifting, i know there is a strength log but this doesn't seem to be deducting from my net calories but surely I'm burning a fair amount especially doing squats and deadlifts etc.

I've obviously seen improvements in my physique since starting 5 months ago and my belly fat is probably going to be the last to go but i'm finding it hard to reassure myself my program is right for me, maybe I'm eating too much/not enough (not eating back my weight lifting calories). I will be jumping on the body fat analyzer and scales at the gym once every 2 weeks now to check my stats and give me a more accurate print out of my body fat etc.

Anyway thats my situation maybe a bit more about me: I'm a web developer so have a rather sedentary job but I play football(soccer) once a week and hit the gym up 5 times a week. Used to be a bit of a gamer but since getting the job and joining the gym I find I have less and less time to play; although I have just purchased Rock Smith to see if i can get into learning the guitar in my spare time. I'm biggggggggggg into my skiing and wish I had the time to go more than once a year or even do a season but it is a major passion of mine, hoping to get back into mountain biking this summer and actually use my fairly expensive bike instead of a clothes maid haha.

This looks like a great community and I can't wait to become a part of it.

Ross.

Welcome Ross! There are plenty of people here who can offer good advice on your questions but it sounds to me like you're doing pretty well in the exercise arena. Keep it up!
