Restless on rest days

Today, I felt really tired and have decided to have an impromptu rest day. Typically, I do not take rest days in a week, even if it's a rest day, it's an active rest day where I still go for walks and such. However, I was too exhausted today and my muscles still ached from yesterday's workout and so I decided to take a rest today and hit it harder in tomorrow's hockey training where we will be doing conditioning, lots of stick work and running.

However, I can't seem to be able to sit still even while resting. I keep having this urge to head outside and run or do home workouts even when I'm dead beat.

Am I the only one facing this problem? I had to force myself to not exercise today because lately, I think I've been over training because my timing for my runs have been getting worse each time and it's really bothering me. I really want to beat my personal record again. Anyone feels restless on rest days? How do you cope?

How many rest days a week do you guys have? Typically I have like, 0 rest days (full rest days), but I don't think it's good to do what I'm doing.

Man i'm in the same situation as you, i can't cope with rest days but sometimes the body needs them i also usually have no rest days, the only way i seem able to cope with that is to diversify my training , or sometimes i go to the gym and i do only some arms or crunches and then a long session of stretching and hit the sauna, i'm still at the gym but relaxing . . . . you're not alone my friend! ;)
