Should I trust my treadmill???

I have a Proform Crosswalk 400e treadmill that tells me my time, distance, speed and calories burned. ( And I can set it at an incline) I can also set a calorie goal and my treadmill will automatically shut off when I reach that goal.
My question is, should I trust what it gives me for "calories burned" or trust what MFP gives me? Because theres usually a big difference.

EX: If i walk on my treadmill for 20 minutes at 3.0 MPH with a small incline, it tells me I burn about 150 calories. But if I type in 20 minutes at 3.0 MPH, Mod. Pace on MFP it gives me quite a bit less.

A heart rate monitor will give you the most accurate results. I've found that exercise machines and MFP both tend to overestimate.

You have a treadmill. Sorry to hear it.

Use the road. Perfectly good for walking/running and it doesnt do the leg work for you, so better exercise.

don't trust either - they are both estimates with different assumptions
heart rate monitors can be more accurate but these also produce and estimate of calories burned from heart rate measured

if you're not sure - the conservative approach would be to pick the lowest value and only eat back some of the calories

I would use the road, but im kinda 32 weeks pregnant and where im from the sidewalks are still icey and snowy, and id rather not fall. So my treadmill is the best I can do for now.
