I believe I'm the slowest weight lifter on earth!

I can't escape facts. I just took an hour and forty mintues to do 5x5 squats and overhead presses, 1x5 deadlifts, 3x10 hip thrusts, two sets to failure of assisted chinups, and two sets to failure of assisted pullups. I know why I'm slow. I'm eating at a deficit currently and am just not terribly strong. But I want to give it my max effort. So I take a boat load of time in between sets. Doesn't bother me either. I actually think it's kind of funny. So I thought I'd share. Have a great day fellow lifters!

Hey, sometimes you need to rest longer in between sets. No harm in that! Keep kicking butt with your lifts!0

Yes, in my own mind, I'm crushing it. Just really slooooowwwwwwwwwlllllllllyyyyyyyy. :laugh:0

it's okay- on average I'm at the gym for 2 hrs- I do a warm up- and a stretchy cool down- but my lift takes well over an hour.
it's absolutely totally okay
Keep killing it!!!0 -

Thanks for your kind words. It's nice to know I'm not too terribly out of the ballpark.0 -
I'm a slow lifter too! We'll both be fine, we're weightlifters! Despite the time and the amount lol0

Yes, I suppose for full disclosure I should have titled this "I believe I'm the slowest and wimpiest weight lifter on earth", but that would have hurt my pride too much. I'm a wimpy beast!0 -

No such thing...just because you aren't deadlifting 500lbs, doesn't make you wimpy. The best thing about weightlifting, is you compete against yourself. Every day you're improving yourself and your strength. I started with JUST deadlifting the bar, every two weeks I increase by 5lbs, if it's to heavy, I deload. You're a weightlifter, you pick things up and you put them back down, that's all there is to it. Be proud of yourself and your accomplishments, lots of people haven't even gotten off the couch yet. You have the pride to walk into the weight room and do what you have to do, no regrets my friend.0 -

Perfection takes time.0

When I hit high intensity, high volume sets I read my kobo between sets. Recovery varies.0

1:40 is nothing, that's a short workout for me. Most of mine are 2:00-2:30. I'm a slacker. Or rather, I go too heavy and then need extra rest.0

I have no life- I have no friends out side of dance and work- so for me I'm at the gym working- or dancing- or I'm at the studio working- and dancing... or I'm at home working on costuming.
It's not like it's a waste when it's what you want.
But I did HIIT weight training exclusively for something like 2-3 years because I didn't have time to spend doing power lifting. It was good enough- but it took it's toll.0 -
