Bloody Lactose!!

Since I switched to consuming mainly Almond and Soy milk - I only have a small amount of cows milk in tea/coffee, but if I'm having anything more than say 25ml, like in porridge- I have non dairy source. Now it seems I cannot stomach cows milk very well at all, and the following day I get all the symptoms of a lactose intolerant. IS this because I cut it out from my diet??

can you find lactose free milk in your area?
I would say that you pinpointed the likely reason, but if it's just a preference, I'd go with lactose free milk when I wanted some.
I drink lactose free milk (most of the time I drink milk) and I handle lactose with no problems.
I don't notice any taste differences with lactose free vs. regular milk FWIW.
Also, if you don't mind the taste of coconut, coconut milk may be an option to maintain the creaminess of milk that almond and soy don't really have.0 -
People develop lactose intolerance as they age. Milk is for young creatures.0

That can happen with a lot of foods when you re-introduce them into your diet, or have more than you usually do. For years I didn't eat any beef and then the first time I had it I was very sick.
Try lactose free milk and see if it makes a difference.0 -
I will try lactose free milk - the one thing that bothers me though is that if I eat ice-cream, I get terrible indigestion.... SAD FACE0
