Heart patients?

Hey, my name is Michael. I'm looking to see if there are any other heart patients on MFP. I had aortic valve replacement surgery in November of 2012. It was a setback, but I am looking to get back on track and get back to what I weighed when I was in the Air Force. If you've had open-heart surgery (or any kind of heart surgery), I'd like to hear your story and follow you in your recovery.

I had valve replacement surgery when I was 19 (10 years ago).
They swapped my Aortic for my Pulmonary, transplanted a cadaver Pulmonary and put a metal ring around my Mitral valve.
Recovery was slow but I wasn't motivated back then. I only started my fitness journey a few years ago.
I'm currently 6'1, 195 lbs. My heaviest was 235, a few years post op.
I'm in the best shape of my life right now and still progressing. I may not ever be the athlete I could have been if I had a healthy heart from birth but I'm going to get as close as physically possible.
If the Doctor gave you a clean bill of health, start your cardio and get lifting.
Good luck bro.0
