Scale Suggestions

I recently moved and in the moving process, I let go of my scale. It was just a cheap one that I had picked up from Ikea that never seemed to give an accurate weight (my roommate lost 7lbs the day she moved home by switching scales). I knew I wanted to invest in a better scale, so it seemed like a good time to let the old one go.
That being said, I don't know which one to buy. I'm thinking digital, but I don't want to go too expensive.
Do the scales that measure body fat actually work?
Any suggestions?

Just get a simple scale. Digital is fine. Spending more money doesn't help you. The body fat analysis method that scales (or handhelds) use isn't accurate or consistent.0

I bought this one on amazon and I liked it very much, it was remarkably steady with its weights. I have bought a shiny new one now that I'm gainfully employed and all that (yay) so I gave it to my mother and she's still using it. She likes it too.0 -
Personally, I don't see the point in spending too much money on a scale. A measuring tape is a better indicator of how you're doing. So my suggestion is just whatever you can find at Wal-Mart or Target, along with a measuring tape.0

I agree. Mine is pretty simple, I'll check the brand when I get home and report back.
Keep in mind that weight loss is relative. The actual numbers don't matter so much as how they vary from one weighing to another. For a long time, I used a Wii Balance board. Then I occasionally (like a few times a year) weighed myself at other places: the gym, the doctor's office, a health fair, etc. The numbers from the Wii were typically 2-4 lbs off. So I figure it would matter once I got within 10-15 lbs of my goal. But right now I have so much weight to lose, I only needed it to watch the trend.
I eventually bought a new scale, just because I got annoyed at how long it took to boot up the Wii just to weigh myself. The one I got calculates body fat. I have no idea how accurate it is, but if it's within 5% either direction then it's accurate enough for me. I just check it to get an idea of where I'm at (again, I have a lot of fat to lose).0 -
