Harrington Rods

I have 2 Harrington rods fused to my spine for scoliosis. They were placed in 1974 from my neck down to mid spine. I have great posture! My question is does anyone else here have these and are there exercise limitations or restrictions you follow? I will ask my doc for sure but would like some input from other MFP people, if possible? Are free weights or kettlebells out of the question? Definitely don't want to injure myself but would use some weights, if it wouldn't be a problem.

Sorry, no experience with the rods. But on most strength exercises, the spine should stay in a neutral position (when viewed from the side) so i would think you should be fine. Not sure twisting or bending exercises though - your doctor can advise you on that.
Whatever you do, try to get your form checked by a good personal trainer (google "finding a good trainer). If that's not possible then follow a good program, like New Rules of Lifting, and watch form videos of the exercises on Youtube.0
