MFP old-timer who keeps bouncing around in weight

I have a big problem with stress eating, and the past year of my life has been more intense than I could have imagined. Unfortunately, this means that instead of losing the 50 pounds I had to lose when I started MFP, I gained another 17 and now have almost 70 pounds to lose. I've been trying to stop being obese since 2004 and somehow I've just never managed it.
Also, due to arthritis in my foot, I had to stop the working out I was doing regularly (such as rock climbing and weight lifting) and I'm sure that was a major factor.
Anyway, I got a cortisone shot and I feel even more motivated to get the weight off because I want to still be able to to walk. Being nearly immobile with that walking boot was a big factor in the recent weight gain.
The point is, I'm really afraid of falling off the wagon yet again and it'd be nice to have more friends on here.
