My husband has lost 30 of his 60 pound goal... I have lost 9 of my 25 pound goal....
His weight loss is much more noticeable so, when we run into people we haven't seen in a while, they are all over him about how great he looks (he DOES look great )
Anyhow, last night we're at our son's Lacrosse game, it happened - Jon was gracious, said what he's lost & then how much I lost... the woman, did the up/down take and asked "what do you need to diet for?" :noway: I was so p***ed. I should take it as a compliment, but the way she said it was totally spiteful & not complimentary at all.
I'm just being overly sensitive, I don't even know her that well - I just needed to vent - thanks for listening.

Yeah, I get that sometimes, too. I have a 25-lb goal as well (I'll take 30, but was trying to be realistic). Most people are very encouraging, but every now and then I get the "why are YOU trying to lose weight, you're not fat?!" I simply answer that I have "personal fitness/wellness goals I am aiming to achieve". That little word "personal" is my way of saying that its none of your business, then, if you're not going to be supportive! hah!
The first 10 lbs I lost, only my very closest folks noticed (ie husband, mother). As i got into the next 10, then other people started to notice. Now that I'm almost at my goal, almost every day at work, someone notices. Its very nice to hear their encouraging words. And I say if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it!
Best wishes to you and your continued journey towards your "personal fitness goals" :flowerforyou:

Thank you... It just felt so discouraging... I've been working my butt off for the 9 lbs... right now I'd be happy just getting into the 140's rather than being 1400

I get that a lot of times too..but I hide my extra weight pretty well. It is very frustrating when people say stuff like that!0
