"The Doctor's Diet"

Hey, long time member returning after a very, very long break.

My Mom has been recommending me this diet plan/book called "The Doctor's Diet," apparently created by that show called, uh... "The Doctors"? No idea, I don't watch it and I think I've seen it on TV, like, once. Also, if this is in the wrong place, sorry!!! Heh. Aaaanyway... I guess I'm wondering if anyone has heard of it, and if so, what they think of it.

I don't really want to start some sort of yo-yo diet where I'm destined to lose because I set myself up for short term gain with no real long-term success. My mom says she's lost 14 lbs in six days (she's somewhere in the mid-200s in terms of her weight), and to be honest, that doesn't seem really good, since I know that the recommended weight loss is about 1-2 lbs a week, though I know that people tend to lose more right from the get go.

So yeah. Thoughts? Opinions?
