Daily intermittent fasting -benefits?

I've been doing IF semi accidentally for a few weeks now. Week days almost 20/4 though not as rigid on a weekend. It's working well for me - as per what another poster on the forum said, it's actually refreshing to not have to think about food during the day and I don't seem to find it a struggle. I've been loosing weight due to me now taking in less calories than previous to doing IF.
Can anyone give me an idea to the benefits to daily IF please, I've not really found a website that I've found useful. Would I still be loosing weight without the additional push on cutting calories do you think? Has anyone any longer term experience of IF? Is this with or without cutting calories by a lot/regular exercise?
I'm a 28yr old female with only a few kg's to loose. I go to the gym 5-6 days a week.
Thanks folks.
