Eating 2000 calories with Insanity?

I'm about to finish my first week of Insanity, and I've been netting 1800 calories for the last couple of months. My BMR is 1500 and my TDEE is around 2300 calories, so I thought that would be a good middle ground, but I haven't lost a significant amount of weight in 2-3 months. I'm 5'4" and weigh 140lbs but still have a lot of fat. The equation in the Insanity nutrition guide told me to eat 2000 calories a day, which seems like way too many but I'm also not sure if I'm not losing because I'm not eating enough. Has anyone had better success eating 2000 calories than 1600-1800? Any advice?

My guess would be that either your TDEE isn't really 2300 calories or you are eating more than you think you are eating. People tend to substantially underestimate their consumption...if you are just eyeballing portions and what not I can pretty much guarantee you are eating more than you think you are. Also, people tend to ignore little bites and licks of this and that...and for whatever reason people often ignore oils and what not which have significant calories.

I've tried at least 4 different TDEE calculators and they all say around the same number. I weigh and log everything as well.

Doesn't sound too out to lunch :) If it says go for the higher total, go for it.

Try it for about a month, assuming you're sticking with Insanity the whole time. If it works, great! If it doesn't, the difference in calories from 1800 to 2000 shouldn't strongly impact your weight.

Thanks. I was thinking about going to 1900, seeing how it goes, and then maybe going up to 2000 for month two. I guess we'll see!
