Hello so I am anorexic. 5'6 and 96lbs. I saw a dietician yesterday she said to eat whatever and doesn't matter the amount. Does that mean go to mcdonalds and supersize it? Lol what do yu think I should do? Where should I start that won't terrify me?

I'm no expert, but I would work my way up if I was in your situation. I would start by shooting for something like 1500 calories (depending on how little you were eating before, maybe less?) and every 4-5 days, up my calories by 200 or so. I would try to eat mostly healthy things (meat, veggies, carbs), but make sure to get some sort of treat in every day. Eat an ice cream after dinner. That sort of thing.0

I think you should ask this Dietician, what he/she means. Not people on a forum.0

I think you should consult your dietician and your doctor. Recovery is a complex situation that needs to be personalized to the individual and no one on the internet is qualified to give you appropriate advice.
That being said... Congrats on choosing recovery and I wish you the best of luck!! You can do this!!0 -
I agree with the above posters.
Anorexia is a serious condition. You have professional help. Use it-they really will help you get well.
So call your dietican and ask your questions.
We can support you in your journey to a healthy weight but not tell you what to do.0 -
You should ask your dietitian about what they meant and research anorexic recovery .. I think it says to start with 2000 calories per day and increase by 500 calories per day until you reach 3500 calories a day and then maintain that until normal bmi/weight is achieved. Which in your case would be approx. 130 lbs.
It is important you eat well above your body maintenance because you must maintain your current level of health plus repair the damage done to your organs which requires a significant amount of extra calories0 -

You have a dietician and presumably a doctor but you want advice from strangers on the internet?0 -
If you have anorexia, your dietician probably just wants you to maintain a healthy weight. I would imagine that telling an anorexic to avoid a certain food, for whatever reason, would not be beneficial to the anorexic person.
But, like every one else said, the best person to clarify her position is her. Ask her.0 -
Listen to the dietitian, he/she know what they're talking about. You don't need to ask internet opinions on subjects you already have the best advice on.0
