Hi everyone.
I just started my fitness plan today. I just had a rude awakening. I keyed in what I had for breakfast... Surprise!!! I had more than 1/2 my allowed calories for the day. . oops!!! Anyway, I am glad I found this website. I am looking forward to reading your posts. :flowerforyou:

Welcome! I LOVE being able to log all my food. It really helps! I think it's a great idea that you ate your normal breakfast as usual, and I would recommend that you do that for the rest of the day and record it. If it is truly about an average of what you eat, that will give you a good idea of how many calories you were consuming before you started being calorie conscious. I never did that but I wish that I had! MFP (myfitnesspal) has been a great resource and I've found great encouragement here. Glad you found us! :flowerforyou:0

I agree, it can be very shocking when you actually track what you have been eating compared to what you will be eating. MFP is an awesome tool and has helped me tremendously.0

Hi. Welcome to MFP. I agree, it's quite shocking to see how the calories add up so quickly. But I love the fact that I log all of the food I eat. It makes me think harder about my choices and evaluate if I really want to consume something. It also helps me prepare for the day. If I know I'm going to have a higher calorie lunch, then I know my dinner will have to be lighter and vice versa. Everyone here has been really supportive.
