Hi there, I'm a 22 year old who was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about an year and a half ago. I'm looking to lose some of the weight gain that stems from that.
I didn't gain any weight until I went on medication, which is kind of the opposite of what was expected, but since then I've gone from 5'4 and 110 lbs to almost 140 lbs. I've always been a healthy eater but I've become much stricter about diet and started exercising every day. I'm looking much more toned but I haven't lost any weight, and suggestions?
I generally try to get a lot of cardio in with a bit of strength training and yoga.

I was also diagnosed with hypothyroid and on a journey to becoming my healthiest self. A few questions for you: are your TSH levels always in a "normal" range? I've noticed that when my range is normal I have an easier time losing weight (1-2lbs a week, this is fine with me). How much weight do you have to lose? Also check your body fat %. what is your "generally a lot of cardio" mean?0

MFP has a Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/770-hypothyroidism-and-hyperthyroidism
I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease) and take Synthroid. I lost way more slowly than most MFPers, but I did it just like everybody else—by eating at a deficit.

That's something you should discuss with your doctor, since it isn't normal.
For exercise, the standard fat loss routine works, which is regular cardio, and full-body strength training (not sure if "a bit of strength training" qualifies).0
