I do it every time... I know the food I eat isnt the best but i have a big family and my husband likes easy and cheap food and theres not much wiggle room with him, I wouldnt even know how to shop for food with less fat b/c I'd have to make meals just for me. Its soo frustrating! Any advice ? I dont eat a ton I can get by with little things throughout the day but i dont know where to start!

I think you know where to start, you've just already dismissed it as too much effort.
Make meals just for yourself. Or even, who's to say your husband WOULDN'T enjoy healthier meals. Try it out just a couple nights a week and see if he complains. Just because it's healthy doesn't mean a dinner of iceberg lettuce.0 -
Also, here's a collection of some quick and healthy recipes you can make

There are a few things you can do that would make things healthier that arent costly, in fact for me some of them are cheaper. I use turkey ground meat instead of beef and add water to help brown it instead of oil (or just a tsp or so of evoo). Buy turkey or chicken sandwhich meat for lunches and such instead of ham or roast beef which have more calories and sodium. These are just a few off the top of my head...ill see if i can come up with some more.
Good luck!!

When I first started dating my bf all he ate was pizza and cheeseburgers. Once he found out I could cook a healthy yet delicious meal he stopped eating so much junk. It's really easy to make healthy quick meals you just need to do some research like I did. What types of food does your husband like to eat? Try to find a lowfat recipe for that food, cook it and see how he likes it. Hope this helps.0

Cook more healthy meals for eveyone. Make sure the serving size is appropriate for you husband and if he doesn't like it well he will just have to go without won't he!
I do all the cooking in our house because my wife doesn't think about healthy options when she cooks. If there is something she doesn't like she has the option of eating it or finding something else herself.0 -
I agree - it would be a gift to your family to make yummy meals that are really healthy! The only other thing you could do is to leave your "piece" out of the sauces or casserole and just grill it - chicken, fish is best - little to no red meat - even pork is better. Load up on veggies and don't eat the starch!0

I had a quick look at your food diary and it is very clear where the problems lie.
Most meals are Pizza, McDonalds, Chicken Nuggets etc.
You really need to get away from the pre-packaged and fast food type meals. You can easily make chicken nuggets using fresh chicken breast yourself and bake them in the oven. And you don't appear to be eating any vegetables. At all.
I certainly don't want to sound too harsh, but in order for this to work you really need to change your way of viewing food, and this means eating fresh healthy foods, not just eating smaller portions of the same old crap.0 -

I see that it may look that way but Its not normally like it has been recently, we've been constantly on the go and Im new to eating healthy, so Im still trying to figure it out, I love vegetables but normally they go to waste b/c no one else eats them but me and with money being tight its hard to buy things just for yourself. Trust me, I didnt think all the pizza and mc donalds was healthy haha , our house is pretty bare right now so we dont actually have anything healthy but my husband agreed to letting me write the grocery list and try to cook for us so hopefully we can get to the store soon0 -
No worries!
I am sure once your husband tries some of the awesome meals you can cook that are healthy he will jump on board!0 -
I am always over my fat limit.0

I am always over my fat limit.
Then you should change you limit!!!
ha ha. If they are mostly good fats (omega 3's etc) then increasing your daily limit may actually be a good idea! Looked at your diary and most fat is from nuts, milk and eggs so I would up the limit!!! It's not like you are going over by eating sat fats from deep fried crap!!!
I am the same by the way, usually go over on the fat a little bit.0
