Protein Ice Cream

After a work out the other day, I was really craving some ice cream. I found my self wondering... we have all these protein shakes, drinks and bars... Why can't we have some protein ice cream. My requirement had to be, it couldn't just be ice cream with protein. I didn't want all the sugar and carbs. I did some searching and found this recipie:
Protein Ice Cream
Ingredients
1 frozen Banana (freeze without peel)
300 grams Low-fat Cottage Cheese (I used Fiber One for the fiber)
1/2 cup (54 grams) Banana Flavored Whey Protein Powder
Directions
Using a food processor, handheld blender, or mixer, blend all ingredients together. Don't use a whisk or spoon because the aim is to end up with a mixture that's creamy, not lumpy.
Place the mixture in a Tupperware container and stick it in the freezer for an hour.
After an hour, remove the container and give the ice cream a good stir. You want to make sure that it freezes evenly. Think of yourself as a human ice cream machine.
Put container back in the freezer. Wait for another hour before taking it out and giving it another churn.
Repeat steps three and four until the ice cream is nicely set and ready to be munched with gusto.
The only change I made was subbing chocolate whey protein and adding a couple Tablespoons of PB2 (http://www.bellplantation.com/). I love peanut butter, banana and chocolate.
I have the above recipe freezing and churning as I type. I'm looking forward to a post work out scoop tomorrow. The macros for it (divided into three servings) is:
Cals: 188
Carbs: 22
Fat: 3
Protein: 23
Fiber: 7
Sugar: 7

Okay, so I just tried this as my post work out snack. First thing, it froze pretty solid. I had to microwave the who batch for a few moments just to soften it up so I could scoop it out.
Once I had a few chunks in my bowl, I microwaved it for a few more seconds to make it soft and creamy.
Once I started it eating, it was like eating really rich ice cream. You don't taste cottage cheese at all. The banana and chocolate was the most prevalent flavor. I didn't even taste the peanut butter, so I will probably omit that next time.
I just have to figure out the churning part (or invest in an ice cream maker).
Rating:
Ease to make 5/10 (kinda a pain to do all the churning. Otherwise it was throw everything in a blender and blend)
Taste: 6/10 (10 being Cold Stone Creamery uber ridiculous OMG what did I just eat?!)
Nutrition (compared to regular ice cream): 7/10 (still a bit more carbs than I would like... If I can find a way to not use banana, I think it would be a 8 or 9/10)0 -
