Night Time Snacking

Lately, I have been seriously overindulging at night time (usually PB carrots/celery or air popped popcorn). It has become a habit for me. I know those two options are not the worst thing...but it is a problem when I eat way more than the portion size. I was doing so well with maintaining my goal, but I have found some pounds creeping back. I think my overeating at night could be the issue.

Any advice on how to break the habit? If you snack at night, what do you typically have? Thanks!

it's not the late night snacking that is causing the pounds to creep up it's your lack of consistent logging and failure to weigh your portions and not logging correctly that is doing that...

    No logging done yesterday
    No logging Saturday
944 logged Friday with nothing weighed
675 logged Thursday with nothing weighed

5oz of chicken with 175 calories???? :noway: :noway: :noway:
24 almonds with 137 calories??? no...164 per USDA for 23...

I have the same problem and can't say I've got a solution. But my suggestions are:

    - Drink more water.

    - Stay active. Choose to exercise at night, add to your blog, etc. Do anything that requires the use of both hands.

    - Rid the house of snackable foods.

    - Put a sign on the fridge: "Not to be opened between the hours of 8 PM and 6 AM." Dumb, but it might help.

    - Plan your breakfast. Look forward to that meal.
