Has anyone else experienced the same?
Both my partner and I are working hard to shed some pounds. We have both lost 22lbs each (with a regular 1-2lbs per week loss) and seem to have hit a wall.
For the past two weeks we have remained the same weight even though we have maintained our regular exercise and our calorie intake has been on/or Under our daily goal. :indifferent:
If you have come across the same problem how did you overcome it. Is there something we can do different? We both discussed putting the exercise on hold for 1 week whilst continuing to calorie count to see if our bodies go into shock but are not sure if this is the right thing to do.

Mix it up a bit I was 3 weeks no weight loss and discouraged. So I increased my work out from 30 minutes to an hour and I ate more calories staying under my goal. I also evaluated my food and changed up some high sugar fruit drinks for lo cal. Finally after 10days of this I began to lose again . Oh I also started B12 my metabolism needed a jump start.0

Try mixing up the work outs you're doing - you may be too used to your exercise regime now and also trying upping your calories for a week by a couple hundred to get your body ticking again! Well done on the 22lbs! Wow!
Jillian says if you keep at it and mix it up a bit your plateau should never last more than two weeks so try the above and I bet you start to lose again pretty quickly!0 -
Make sure you're eating enough. I say this countless times to people. I'm not sure what your calories are set at, but I lost for a bit with the 1200cal a day, but got stuck. I didn't see a loss again until I up'd my intake to 1400-1600calories a day on days I didn't exercise and at least 1800calories on days I did.
Double check what's going in versus what's going out with exercise and your BMR.0 -
First , it is great that you both are maintantaining your weight loss! Have you checked your measurements? Perhaps you're bodies are changing without showing on the scale... Just a thought...0

Try cycling your caloric intake. Eat a caloric deficit for two days, then eat enough calories to maintain your current weight on the third day, and repeat. Also, add 15 minutes of cardio twice a week. Your body is just used to your diet and needs a shake up. Don't stop exercising! Good luck and way to go on the 22 lbs!0

You could also be increasing your muslce mass through the exercise you're doing, which could explain why you're remaining at a static weight, despite continuing your program. Sometimes weight doesn't need to be lost, but rather transitioned from fat into muscle.0

I've only just past this point myself. Up until this morning I'd not lost anything for almost three weeks. This morning however I showed a 1lb loss. The only thing I've done differently is increased my exercise from 2 sessions a week to 5. (Big deal for me because I don't enjoy exercising the way others do)
Good luck in getting over your plateau.0 -
Repeating one thought: Measure!!! One pound of Muscle takes up less space than one pound of fat.
Do not go under your minimum calories more than about once a week. On that note, go over your planned minimum about once a week--that way, you are still eating your calories, just keeping your metabolism from getting bored.Your body is so pleased with that extra gift, you lose weight--as long as the extra calories do not involve lots of sodium.
Are you drinking lots of water? You need it to wash out the toxins and sodium (and fiber and water for the intestines).
I will leave the exercise suggestions to others--my exercise is stretching and walking, mostly. You can do this! :drinker: (water)0 -
Thanks for the support and advice everyone.
I am currently burning 6-7000 calories a week cycling and have a daily 1500 cal goal. I think with some amendments to our patterns, then we should keep the weight(fat) loss moving in the right direction. :happy:0 -

Wow!! If you're burning almost 1000 calories a day with exercise alone, and only eating 1500, I'd DEFINITELY say up those calories!!!!0
