Dentist today-Can I make up my calories not eaten tomorrow?

Probably a silly question, but I didn't realize the extent of my dentist trip today. I am numb FOREVER LOL. If I don't get all my calories in today, should I just ignore it, or add them tomorrow to my intake, or spread it out over a week...?

What would you do?

I'm trying to gain weight, so I'd drink my calories. But it's not really a big deal. If you're trying to lose weight, there's no reason to make up the shortage for a day. Just carry on.

I usually look at my calories on more of a weekly basis than daily. It's definitely okay to eat some extra calories tomorrow if you aren't going to eat them today.

Here's hoping that the feeling in your mouth doesn't come back with a vengeance once the Novocaine wears off!

It's your preference, I guess it depends on how you want to spread them out. Weight loss is an average deficit, so if you were 800 calories low today, for example, you could eat those 800 calories tomorrow on top of your regular intake, or have an extra 200 calories per day on top of your normal intake for the next 4 days.

If it was me, I'd probably eat them all the next day (preferably in the form of wine or ice cream). :)

I wouldn't worry about it so much. You can always eat soup or some other soft food when the numbness wear off. Just went through this, couldn't fully open my mouth due to an infection for almost a week, once I could eat normally....I just ate...normally. Didn't try to make up for the calories I missed when I couldn't eat.

I think I'm just too nervous about it. I have a habit of cutting my calories too low to lose weight and then stalling and cutting more calories. It's a vicious cycle that I don't want to repeat.

Thank you! I hope there isn't any pain either! The dentist says my anxiety causes the anesthesia to not penetrate the nerves properly, so my whole face is numb but my teeth are sensitive. I'm so weird! Why can't I just be normal?! LOL
