If you multiply your weight(lbs) by 9, you should eat LESS calories than this total . 9 Calories per lb MAINTAINS the same weight.
I'm pretty sure that's incorrect. If that were true, I'd need 1089 to maintain my weight. My maintenance calories are closer to 1600-1800 depending on how much I exercise.
This is definitely incorrect as I'm 130 lbs and when I'm on maintenance I eat 1,800-1,900. 130 x 9 = 1,170. Even now that I'm trying to take off 5 lbs at 1 lb a week I'm eating at 1,500.
There are many methods to figure out how many cals a day you need, but my personal favorite is the TDEE method. There is a good calculator here to help you figure that out: http://www.incrediblesmoothies.com/tools/Calculator-Daily-Calorie.html0
