NSV at a wedding!

Yesterday two of my best friends got married. I was a bridesmaid and we bought our dresses a year ago. When we bought my dress it was on clearance and the only size available didn't zip more than halfway up my back.

I tried on the dress three weeks ago to make sure it would fit for the wedding and it was perfect, it even had a little extra give.

Yesterday when I put on my dress for the actual wedding we discovered that it was way to big, in fact it was falling off! I went from not even fitting into that dress to it falling off. I could get my forearm into my strapless dress with me, that's how much extra room I had! And even though we were worried about a wardrobe malfunction from me the night went off without a hitch (except for the part where the ring bearer had dropped the rings off the pillow!).

That is an awesome NSV :D I hope to have a similar one soon (involving a dress, not a wedding).

We tried using safety pins but there was too much extra fabric. I just clenched my arms really tight and strategically held my bouquet to help hold it up. As soon as the ceremony ended I changed into a smaller dress I had brought with me.

HA! Strategic bouquet! That's a smart solution to a wonderful problem! :)

awesome!!! I'm actually a little worried about this myself- dress came in last week and fits great (was snug when ordered) but the wedding is in July (it would be a great problem to have if it was too big!!)

Congratulations! :) Although it's uncomfortable having to deal with clothes that are too big, it's a great feeling knowing there's proof your change in habits are working!

The other day I went to the theater and I wore my only dress, but it had to be safety pinned because it was too big and falling off. Even though we did the best we could last minute with the safety pins, all night I was worried about it because it was still loose. As much as I liked that dress, apparently it's time to donate it and go buy a new dress. It was especially satisfying despite the annoyance though since I tried wearing it a few months ago and I could barely squeeze in and out of it.
