Thanks and No Thanks

Hello fellow fitness pals :3
A week ago I posted this ( http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1248510-i-just-wanna-ing-quit ) in the Motivation and Support forum.
I would like to say a few things (don't worry, no swearing this time).

I would first like to apologize for my behavior and attitude in this post. I was having a very bad week due to finals coming up, five essays being due, and friends being at each others throats (with me being awkwardly caught in the middle). So when I saw that I had gained weight, it became the straw that broke the camel's back. I wanted support and help. Some of you gave me this help and support. Some of you nicely put how I was over reacting to something that was most likely water weight. But it was when people started calling me a "troll" and basically saying I had no right to be a psychology major that sent me off the edge. Was it immature of me to swear? Yes. But it was very heartbreaking to see my plea for support mocked... the people who did this have no right to be posting in the Motivation and Support forum.

Other than that, I'd love to thank the few people who actually gave supporting words. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much it meant for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

There are quite a few people who don't belong here, who say terrible things because they're hiding behind a computer screen. They use the internet and public forum as an excuse to display their true colors. We shouldn't have to tolerate it, but apparently they feel entitled to share an unwarranted and uncalled for opinion. There are other places and other forums for people to be turds, but no, they go to the motivation and support board to be the exact opposite of what we need, lol.

Stress does terrible things mentally, and it's perfectly understandable that you may have exaggerated any circumstances.

I've spent thousands of hours in internet forums during high school and into college so I learned how to deal with people on forums before coming here. Once you get into a situation where people start attacking you, you have to bail instantly. Stop responding and stop looking at the thread. People get all excited when the person they are bullying is getting worked up, and they don't like when the victim doesn't respond. It's different on the internet than in real life. Just shut the thread out completely and move on. This is a forum with lots of socially rejected and bitter people. Things can get nasty when they find their first opportunity to finally pick on someone else.

You don't have to apologize for anything. We all go through nasty weeks when we just need to vent.

^Yep. These people are everywhere and you will come across them several times throughout your life, but the internet seems to be a big place for them to gather and spread their negativity and hate.

This place is just as bad as any other internet forum. No matter what you say, someone is going to ridicule or yell at your for it. I've had my fair share of my words being twisted around and used against me. Just take it with a grain of salt. A lot of times it's just unhappy people who have nothing better to do, or someone who is having a bad/stressful day themselves.

You cut me to the quick sir. I got all wrapped up in a thread a few weeks ago, and it was only after telling my wife all about it that midway through I realized I had transported myself back in time to fight a fight I fought and lost a long time ago. I was taking it out on people who weren't there, didn't care, and share no blame...I was out of line. Tough lesson, but an important one.

Especially an internet forum where the majority of the users were, at some point, social rejects for being fat/bullied/embarrassed/teased/lonely/depressed/sad/angry/confused. There are more underlying problems in this forum than probably 99% of other internet forums.

This. Be aware that when you put yourself out there for anonymous yet very public scrutiny, you get all sorts of responses, the good along with the bad.

It takes a lot to be humble enough to admit wrong-doing. Everybody has bad days and maybe some of the negative answers to your post were by people also having bad days. I hope things are better now. Best of luck.

The blog feature of this site is a good one. Use it for venting, not the forums.

But it was when people started calling me a "troll" and basically saying I had no right to be a psychology major that sent me off the edge.

99% or people who look to psychology as a major do so to fix themselves. So you'll be fine.

As for being a troll...9 post or which most are controversial, and no photos. You aren't making a strong case against it.

Any way, all the best in your endeavors.
