Hey everyone! Getting back at tracking and such! I lost so much weight using MFP. I gained a few pounds back since the holidays, so I am working on keeping myself in check.
I recently read an article describing the Harris-Benedict equation and based on that, it says I should be eating roughly 1,936 calories a day to lose 1 lb a week.
That is more than MFP's suggestion...Just wondering how many calories you all eat and if it's more than MFP's recommendation?
Here is my stats
Age: 26
Weight: 137 lb
Height: 67.2 inches
Goal is to lose 1 lb a week
Any advice/tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

In my experience, and my experiences with my friends, MFP's calculator assumes the user is over whatever age it is that your metabolism slows down, so us in our 20's have to eat more than that. I do eat more than MFP recommends for me at my real activity level (lightly active) which I did my setting my activity to moderately active. It was consistent with my own math I did, which was probably the Harris-Benedict equation or similar.
I'm 5'4" 135lbs and should be losing between .5 and 1lb/week eating 1800 net calories a day. (Haven't actually weighed myself in long enough to know whether or not I am losing weight, but my BF% went down over the past 2 months and I look good.)0 -
