RMR testing

Question for the masses: I'm curious what my true RMR is as I have a lot of weight to lose. Who in the world do I go to to have the test? Is it something my family doctor could do or would I have to go to a gym?
Thanks in advance for the info!

I did mine on a fitness center. Some centers have specialized equipment to do this test. My test was putting on a mask and measuring my oxygen for 10 minutes while I was resting.
Google your town/city and "RMR testing" or something like that. They usually offer measuring body fat %, RMR, and VO2. They don't do it at many gyms though, I think you have to look somewhere more specialized.0 -
I searched around and found a nutritionist to do mine and got my body fat tested via the V02 also.0

If you live near a university you can have it done there, I don't think most gyms will have that type of equipment. Often the nutrition, sports medicine or medical college will do testing for the public for a fee. The one by me has a sports performance center and is $50 for the metabolic testing but they offer lots of other tests, as well. I'm not sure if smaller colleges/universities offer them but I"m sure most of the larger ones do.0

Thanks for the replies! I do live in a city with a moderate sized university and hospital, so I'll try to do some digging to see if they do it.0
