I am addictied to pepsi max, this sounds stupid I know! I have been drinking it daily for about 3 years, and even though it has 0 calories it is full of other junk and a lot of caffeine! Yesterday was day one without any, in an attempt to kick the habit.
Just wondering if anyone else out there has given it up? Or had a similar addiction to diet drinks, (I have heard its the aspartame thats highly addictive)

You're not addicted. By saying that you just demean those with real life addictions who have to break the law to feed those addictions. Do you find yourself shooting up in back rooms? Stealing money to feed this 'addiction' no.
In reality Pepsi max is not really bad for you as with anything in moderation. In fact caffeine can have very positive effects. I have a can most days. If you want to give it up that's fine you just need to find something else to drink. You are here to lose weight so by focusing so intently on something that has no effect on your weightloss you may take your eye off the ball. If you don't need to why make yourself suffer? Your choice but good luck on whatever you decide0 -
I have a Coke Zero, Rockstar, Monster energy drink issue. I'll go months at a time when I don't drink any of them but I'll slowly go back to having 1 or 2 a week. Too much of anything is bad for you, even water......let that sink in a bit lol0

You don't have to break the law to be addicted to something - I think that attitude is very stereo typical and narrow minded.
Is the OP addicted to Pepsi Max - probably not.
Try hard not to have it for 3 - 4 weeks (it sounds more like a habit).0 -

I drink no added sugar cordial added to water. While it still has some artificial ingredients in it, it does not have caffeine and you only need a small amount - the rest is water. That way, I'm still getting a sweet drink, but 85-90% of it is water.
I like the double concentrate ones, like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Robinsons-Double-Concentrated-Orange-Bottle/dp/B0052G9HNI
You're strong enough to kick the habit! Good luck0 -

^This. I doubt you are willing to risk your job, home, and family for a Pepsi Max. It sounds like you just have a habit you want to break. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not an addiction. Aspartame is found in lots of products, not just soda, so if you were addicted to it, you would not only be drinking soda but using those products whenever feasible as well, like chewing gum all day. The fact that you go for the soda says to me that you like soda, and probably the bonus caffeine as well.
I stopped drinking soda the week of Thanksgiving. I was drinking one diet soda a day for the caffeine (I don't drink coffee or tea) and decided to cut it out to see if it would help alleviate some of the sensitivity in my teeth. The first few days were tough - I was tired, cranky, and had headaches from the lack of caffeine. But those feelings went away quickly and it hasn't been a problem. My teeth seem to be doing better, and no, I do not have issues with the aspartame monkey on my back, as there is a 12-pack of Diet Pepsi chilling in the fridge and 10 more downstairs because my husband drinks them.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to cut back on diet soda or eliminate it completely if it's not doing anything for you, but since it is no calories it is not going to make a huge impact on your weight loss. Just make sure you replace those zero calorie sodas with zero calorie water, or you could be creating a calorie surplus.0 -

In for endless debates about what addiction is.
Here I'll start. OP, you are not addicted. You just like to drink to much soda. Some self control is needed.
I think at this stage everyone is on the same page with whether OP is addicted to pepsi max.0 -
