Yes, metabolic rates can be somewhat hereditary (your propensity, anyways) ... but what you do with that hand you were dealt makes a bigger difference! You might be surprised to learn that the heavier you are, the more likely it is that your metabolism is HIGHER than average (due to the added load) ... check this out for some perspective! Short, simple read but rings true ..
