If I was to boil a whole chicken

to use in a recipe and keep the liquid to make soup how would I work out how much sodium calories etc is in it?

I'd just use the same info as for a canned chicken broth and perhaps adjust the salt content. You can use the recipe section of MFP to figure out the nutrients. My guess is that someone else has already done this so a little research will go a long way.0

It'd depend on 1: how much salt you add to the water, and 2: if the chicken is processed with broth like some are. A good chicken from the butcher that isn't bagged with broth, then you control how much salt is in it. Then you can use the sodium content from the USDA numbers for a chicken + whatever salt you add.0
