Best weight loss machines/equipment at the gym

What are the best cardio machines and strength activities you can use at the gym for weight loss? I have been trying to lose weight for about a year now and have only lost 11 pounds.

The barbell. Seriously. I only run because I needed to learn some discipline in my life. I lift all the things to be lean and strong and get the body I want to have. Also, weight loss comes from a deficit, not working out. If you haven't lost weight at your calculated pace, you are probably not in the deficit you think you are.

The best piece of equipment in the gym, or anywhere else for that matter, is you! More importantly, your will power.

We all know how to lose weight, just most of us don't have the necessary strength of mind to really do it. We know we need to eat a little bit less, we know we need a balanced exercise programme, but we'd rather just sit on the settee and eat crisps and chocolate.

I'm not having a go at anyone here as I'm just as guilty as anyone else, just saying what we all know but wont admit.

The barbell is the only thing that you NEED to get strong, muscular and lean. The most important tool for fat loss isn't in the gym though, it's in your kitchen.

Agreed. Look up Starting Strength and follow the program.

I do that plus Cardio / Ab / Calve work on off days.
