Gained 4-5 pounds back over weekend

I was doing really well and had lost around 14 pounds in just under 6 weeks. I had family come visit me so I wasn't able to exercise or eat as healthy as I had been doing for 4 days. I stepped on the scale and to my surprise I was about 5 pounds heavier than my last weigh in before my family came!
Is that typical when my body is used to such a strict workout and eating routine? Will this always be the case when I take off 3-4 days straight from my normal healthy exercising/meal plans? I would like to think that my metabolism will start getting better, but how/when will that happen?
Thanks in advance for the advice/comments!

It's not uncommon to have water weight fluctuations. But unless you ate over 14,000 + calories over your maintenance levels, it's not fat.0
