I just got done falling off the wagon and i need a seatbelt to help keep me in next time. I think part of the problem is that i don't have any solid rules. When i don't have anything set in stone, i start getting too relaxed and making little excuses of "ahhh its just 200 calories over today. I'll be fine". Then the next day i'll think "well, i screwed up on my calorie counting yesterday anyway so i may as well binge!" I know. Horrible train of thought right?

I was thinking about a rest day budget and an active day budget. Rest day being 1500 and a day where i'm more active (work days) stick to 1800. And also no cheat days. What do you think? For the stats, i'm a 5'8 30 year old dude that weights 220 lbs.

You could be eating a lot more than 1,500 on rest days.

my fitbit says I only burned 2200 on rest days. That would slow my weight loss down quite a bit. I don't know how much I should be listening to my fitbit when it comes to this

I think maybe you're having problems lately because your calorie quota for a day is too low.

Just plugged you in on Scooby fitness (assuming 3 - 5 hrs a week of moderate exercise, forgive if wrong) and telling it you want 20% calorie reduction (the highest safe amount) and it's saying you should be eating

    2400 cals a day

    and losing

    1.2lb a week.

Just do it that way. Slow and steady wins the race. you've got all year, if you eat too little you just go crazy and binge.

It's taken me 44 yrs to work this out. Wouldn't it be something if it only took you 30. :p

Honestly I think you need to have a look at your nutrition. Your body is only going to demand good for two reasons either ...

    A) You aren't giving it the nutrients it needs.

    B) You are addicted to sugar

Make sure you eat plenty of healthy clean food with enough protein, good fats, vitamins and minerals. If you have a major vitamin deficiency that can cause serious hunger. Perhaps try taking am multivitamin that can really help I found. Remember .. your body get's what it needs. One way or the other.

If you find yourself hungering for sugary stuff then i'm afraid you need to break your addiction. Go 3 or 4 weeks cold turkey no sugar whatsoever apart from that found within fruit and whole foods. This is f*cking hard. I know. i did it. I'm glad I did.

Pay attention to your bodies nutrition. It really is no good to get skinny and wreck your health in the process. You will NOT get the result you want at the end.
