had 1/4 cup of bell peppers in my salad today (red and yellow) entered it into my food diary and nearly fell off my desk chair. never realized how much sodium they had until today! i watch my sodium because i retain water like crazy and too much makes my feet swell like balloons. is it true or did i perhaps select a bogus entry?

4mg per 100g for a red bell pepper0

If they were fresh peppers your cut up yourself then, yes, you picked the wrong entry. Use these entries instead:
Peppers - Sweet, red, raw
Peppers - Sweet, yellow, raw0 -
Google can tell you nutritional information for many whole foods, with a "label" that looks exactly like packaged foods that appears all the way to the right of the screen.
When I Googled bell peppers, one medium bell pepper had 4 mg sodium.0 -

i'm thinking i did exactly that picked the wrong entry because yes fresh pepper nothing done to it. all i did was pick up 2 rings from the salad bar at the grocery store. one was red and the other yellow.0 -
YUP!!!! picked the wrong entries! just another reason why it's SO important to read/watch what you select in the food entries. :bigsmile:0
