Don't worry too much about Easter calories

The way I see it is one day really isn't going to offset the 4 weeks I put in at a good calorie deficit. I'm establishing the day as a "cheat day" and moving forward full speed while adjusting calories for the week to offset the surplus. I'm thinking this is the best way to view holidays like this. Don't worry yourself just adjust your weekly caloric intake afterwards I.E consume fewer calories than you usually do/more cardio for a few days after and all is well. Enjoy yourself.

  • I've actually surprised myself by asking my mum not to get me chocolate this year and to get me fabric instead. I've gone so long now with out chocolate that it just doesnt appeal anymore!

But i agree, you shouldn't worry so much over one day, you can always work it off later.

You are better than me. I love me some chocolate. I just give myself smaller portions now. I find just a little bit helps get over the cravings.

I am not worrying about one day. I will not eat candy or drink alcohol that is the best I can do on Easter. But, the food bring it on.

Have a little chocolate, have a lot of chocolate. Either way the main thing is to make sure you savour and enjoy every mouthful without guilt. Then get right back on track on Monday.

Also stop worrying about what you're eating or your diet and enjoy spending time with family and friends, after all it's only one day

Only one day? Poor you. Easter is a 4 day long holiday where I live and all of them must be heavily coated in delicious Lindt chocolate. Actually if you count celebrations starting tonight in preparation for Good Friday tomorrow, it is 4 1/2 days

I started MFP in late January and was pretty worried about Superbowl and Valentine's Day, but those went fine. I'm now feeling pretty confident about Easter. (We'll see how Thanksgiving and Christmas go, though...those will be true tests of mettle!)

Easter indulgences I am looking forward to: twice-baked potatoes and maybe one caramel, marshmallow, and peanut butter egg apiece. Not huge chocolate bunnies, though. I was shocked at the grocery store to see that there were 152 calories in one ounce of milk chocolate! (Well...that might be worth it, for me, with orange and/or dark chocolate.) ;)
