Question about dinner tomorrow

Hi! Was just wanting to as you all something. Tomorrow for dinner I'm going to be having Old El Paso Quesidillas, 4 of them with nothing else, 1 quesidilla contains tortilla wrap, cheese, chicken, spicy sauce. I know it's going to be at least 1300 calories, so tomorrow I'm going to be doing extra cardio, my body resistance workout and eat less during the day, daily I normally eat 1600-1800 calories so I should still be able to stay under my limit. I should still get most of my protein intake from the chicken and cheese and I'll probably have a glass of milk with it and a yogurt for breakfast. This is not my cheat meal, I have my cheat meal on the weekend, so I'm wondering if it should be ok if I stay as close to my calorie intake as possible and do extra cardio?

    Yeah, that's fine.

I don't think what you're doing overall is optimal for your situation, but exercising more to eat more as a general concept is quite reasonable.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean not optimal for my situation?

Well, you're a young man at a reasonable weight without much muscle. You're probably trying to get more defined abs/chest, right? If you were more overweight, I'd say cut for a bit while strength training and getting protein. But you're already pretty small. So you're just going to get smaller by dropping more weight.

If you build a better muscle base, then lean up a little bit, you'll have the end result I assume you're looking for. And you're at a fantastic age to do that pretty quickly with a decent training and eating setup.

    For clarity on this concept:

So you think I should be eating more than 1600-1800 calories?

Yeah. If you're aiming for fitness-model rather than just thin guy, you'll want to do strength training and eat to support muscle gain - as in, you would need to have a calorie surplus, not a deficit.

Ok, I've started doing resistance training I found on nerdfitness 3 days a week, it involves squats, planks, push ups, lifting 2 gallons of milk and push ups, I don't love near a gym or have weights so I do this, I read it's still good to do resistance training like this, so would this count for the strength training?
