Overweight, major smoker with asthma but I RAN 5K!!

This is a very simple post here... Im raving!

I'm a 27 y.o. female, 5'6'', 185 pounds.
I smoke about 40 cigs/week plus about an ounce of weed every week.
I have severe asthma.
AND IM LAZY!!

But yet... I had been dreaming of becoming able to run for an hour, like the cool sexy people seem to be doing so easily (I thought one hour was a good number... although VERY out of reach for me at the time!).

I've been working out for some time and started running on a treadmill 6 months ago, about 3 to 4 times a week.

At first, I could only go for 4-5 minutes at a time, then I would walk for 2-3, then start running again... For months, the longest 'consecutive' run I could do was 11 or 12 minutes. Two months ago I hit the 20 minutes mark... And yesterday was the first time in my whole life that I RAN FOR A FULL HOUR!! Non-stop, no break or slowing down!! I ran 5.1miles in 60 minutes!!

When I finished my run, I was purple and completely drenched, but I DID IT! I'm looking forward to attempting to do this again today! There is no feeling like knowing that I AM THE TOUGHEST LITTLE FAT CHICK AT MY GYM ;P

Huge congratulations to you. You are way fitter than me, no way could I run 8 ks without a break and I'm not overweight or a smoker.

Does this awesome achievement make you want to give up smoking?

Awesome! I so want to do this! There's a 5k in the next town that includes spectator throwing powdered pigment at the runners, and I WANT TO BE COVERED IN POWDERED PAINT!
