Ok, i have seen a lot of threads on here saying 'ive lost lots of weight and i seem to have stalled now and am not losing any more'.
Believe it or not there are a couple of reasons for this and how you can get around it.
1. You need to feed your metabolism:
A re-feed day is commonly used when you hit a plateau in weight loss. Think of your metabolism like a steam train, you need to feed it for it to keep going fast and burning off all the fat, if your on a low calorie deficit diet for a long time it adjusts to the calories your taking in and needs to be fed. Ideally this will be 1 day either once a week or once a month (depending on bodyfat percentages) where you increase your carbohydrate intake by 100%. This will allow your body to realise it needs to re-boot its metabolism and carry on burning off the excess fat.
2. Your calorie deficit will have changed!
When you've lost a lot of weight, your calorie deficit is now going to be completely different! This means going onto your MFP changing your stats and seeing how much you now need to intake to keep losing that weight. Someone whose 30 stone's calorie deficit will be different to someone thats 12 stone.
Hope this helps you!
